Community Thanksgiving in Lancaster Honors Lives Lost to Gun Violence

Earlier this month, Souls Shot Portrait Project was honored to participate in the 5th Annual Community Thanksgiving Meal hosted by the ENDALL Movement’s Life After Loss program in Lancaster, PA. The gathering brought together neighbors, survivors, advocates, and faith leaders for an afternoon of remembrance, resilience, and joy.

The event—held in loving memory of Kendall Cook and all lives lost to gun violence—offered a warm holiday meal, uplifting performances, and free personal-care items and winter clothing for those in need. Speakers included Reverend Martha Harris, who spoke powerfully about the strength of community care, and members of Moms Demand Action Lancaster, who shared words of solidarity and support.

It was a moving reminder that art, gathering, and compassion all play a role in healing. We’re deeply grateful to have witnessed and shared in this celebration of life and love.
