Portraits have a unique ability to reveal the soul and deeply move those who view them. This series is part of the Souls Shot Portrait Project, which pairs artists with families and friends of individuals lost to gun violence.

I was honored to meet Denise, who shared the story of her life and the life of her son, who was tragically murdered in Philadelphia last year. Through our conversation and the resulting portraits, I aim to honor his memory and help preserve the humanity behind the statistics.

This work seeks not only to memorialize lives lost but also to bring awareness to the ongoing and devastating impact of gun violence on families and communities.
